The Ultimate Airbnb Cleaning Checklist (Free To Use)

Every reliable Airbnb turnover lives or dies by its checklist. Without one, things get missed. With one, every clean is consistent, even on a busy same day flip.

Below is a shortened, room by room version of the checklist our teams use across Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Nottingham and the rest of the UK. Feel free to copy it for your own property.

Bedrooms

Strip all beds and bag up used linen straight away. Remake every bed with fresh hotel grade linen, hospital corners, no creases.

Hoover the whole room including under the bed. Dust all surfaces and skirting boards. Polish mirrors. Empty bins and replace bags.

Top up bedside water glasses, check lamps work, and reset any decorative items to their original spots.

Bathrooms

Descale taps, showerheads and glass. Deep clean the toilet inside and out, including behind the seat.

Wipe down all tiles and mirrors. Polish chrome. Empty the bin. Replace toiletries, hand soap and fresh towels folded neatly.

Mop the floor last, working back towards the door. Leave a fresh scent, not a chemical one.

Kitchen

Wipe and polish all surfaces, including the splashback and the sides of the units. Clean inside the microwave, descale the kettle and clear out the toaster crumbs.

Empty and refill the dishwasher. Wipe down the fridge inside and out, throwing away any leftover guest food.

Restock tea, coffee, sugar, dish tabs and bin bags. Take out the bins and replace the liners.

Living areas

Hoover the carpet, including the edges. Polish all hard surfaces, including the TV stand and coffee table.

Fluff and arrange cushions. Fold throws neatly. Check all remotes are present and working. Leave the Wi-Fi card in plain view.

Set the thermostat to a welcoming temperature so the property feels right the moment the next guest opens the door.

Hallways and entrance

Mop or hoover the entrance. Clean the inside of the front door and the door handle.

Wipe down light switches and any mirrors. Make sure the key safe or smart lock is reset and ready for the next guest.

Final walk through

Take photos of every key room and send them to the host. Turn off all lights except the ones agreed for arrival.

Lock all internal doors that should be locked, double check the front door, and confirm the property is ready in your messaging app.
